Dr. Pete Jouflas earned degrees in microbiology in 1978 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 from Colorado State University. He practiced both large and small animal medicine for 35 years before retiring in 2017.
Dr. Pete and his wife Kristy operated a small farm and cultivated the hemp that is the main source of the full spectrum cannabinoids that are used in the CannOmega products, insuring a controlled farm to pharmacy product.
Growing hemp sparked Dr. Pete’s interest in biochemistry and the physiologic effects of phytocannabinoids on the endocannabinoid system in animals. He recommended fish oils to his patients for many years and experienced improvements in their mobility and general health. This knowledge combined with recent studies demonstrating the synergistic relationship of omega 3 fatty acids and the endocannabinoid system, led to the formulation of CannOmega.
Pete and Kristy have 2 grown children and 2 grandkids and enjoy spending time with them whenever possible. They also enjoy golf, gardening and skiing in their spare time.
