Industrial hemp and marijuana plants are both classified as cannabis sativa. However, industrial hemp plants cannot produce more than 0.3% Delta-9-THC, the psychoactive component of the plant. Our industrial hemp industry is regulated by the Colorado Department of Agriculture until harvest. After harvest, our dried hemp flower is extracted, and our consumer products are regulated by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Industrial hemp is part of the agriculture and manufactured food landscape, whereas the marijuana industry has its own very specific rules and regulations.
